This was one of my very favorite sessions! Powell’s is such a Portland icon, and it is so beautiful inside! When we scheduled this engagement session, we planned to be outside originally, but made a last-minute call as it poured down rain. I’m so glad we did! From sneaking around people who were reading as to not disturb them, to grabbing coffee, to discovering a cute little patio when the rain let up, it was an all-around perfect afternoon!
This cute family is always such a joy to photograph! I have known Meghan since jr. high, and she and Brian are just the sweetest. I got to take their maternity photos this summer, and their family photos this fall. We had the perfect weather! (minus the freezing temperature, that is) I was super happy that they brought their cute pup along too. I’m a big sucker for babies and dogs, so this was a dream shoot. I am so excited to see what is in store for their family!
Sara and Clayton’s weddings holds a special place with me, because it was the first wedding I booked when i started my business! Aside from the fact that I would totally be friends with these two, being approached 2 months after starting this journey was a HUGE boost to my confidence and made all the difference in how I began to market myself.
The wedding itself was at this lovely golf course in Wilsonville. It had a gorgeous forest venue for the ceremony, and a sweet canopy area for the reception. Sara had a ton of DIY’s, and they made the entire event cute and fun! I loved that she put so much time and detail into everything, because it really made a difference. AND I love that they had chai and doughnuts instead of cake! Who doesn’t love a good doughnut?!
When you think “DIY Wedding”, Aaron and Delaney’s is exactly the wedding you should picture. In fact, this wedding is so DIY that the venue, which is a family friend’s farm, was completely redone by the father of the bride. He got rid of moles, leveled the ground, planted grass, strung lights, made tables, used his rental company’s fabulous vintage tent- it was full DIY. Delaney even made homemade jam for the favors! Aaron and Delaney are so in love, and it just shows in everything they do. He is silly and fun, and she is sweet and full of life.
I loved their wedding. All of the DIY’s, the vintage tent, the badass bride throwing hatchets, kids picking apples, a rainbow at sunset, and Aaron’s vintage Mustang for lowlight photos. It was a truly magical day.
Nikkie and Michael had an AMAZING wedding. A full weekend at a summer camp! With games, swimming, food trucks, and camping. Seriously, amazing. It didn’t surprise me at all to learn that everything was handmade, from the decorations to Nikkie’s wedding dress! It was a perfect summer day, and just the most fun. Especially because their big focus were dancing photos. And after seeing this group on the dance floor, it made total sense. It was such a blast!
I try not to play favorites with my couples, because they’re all so amazing for so many reasons. BUT, Heather is my very best friend in the world! So I can I not favorite this session?! She and Austin got engaged on their 5th anniversary- the same year they bought a house together! I couldn’t be happier for them. <3 They are perfect for each other, and no one deserves that more than Heather. Taking their engagement photos was such an honor, and I can’t wait to stand next to her next October!
Nicole and Nathan. Easily the sweetest couple I’ve ever met. These two are not only kind toward one another, but they are just outwardly kind to everyone! I loved, loved, loved photographing their big day! Nicole found me online as she and Nathan live in Chicago, but were getting hitched in Portland. We coordinated everything online, but met for lunch right before the wedding. I instantly knew this wedding would be fun! I, personally, embrace the nerdy things in life, so I was delighted to see the Nintendo ring box Nicole made herself. PLUS all of the paper bouquets and centerpieces she made. It was all so perfect <3
I love maternity photos! This sweet couple was just about to move to the Bay Area, but really wanted some photos before they left. What I love most about these is that I was warned by them about 3 times that they are awkward in photos, but that was absolutely NOT true at all! They look so happy and excited to welcome their little one <3
Michelle and Nick. The perfect couple! So in love for so many years. They’ve been through it all together, including raising their little boy. This small chapel ceremony, and backyard reception (in the most beautiful backyard ever!) was so romantic, fun and sweet. I loved every small detail- from the homemade decor to the wedding cookies!
This wedding was SO MUCH FUN! It didn’t even feel like photographing a wedding for someone I had just met, but it was like we had been friends for years! Cheyanne and Angel had the most fun bridal party, and I loved their carefree energy. Caswell Sculpture Garden was pretty gorgeous, too.
I’m always a fan of whimsical weddings, and this wedding absolutely was one. Everyone was so close and just loved being together to celebrate the couple. Plus, it stopped raining and the sun came out just in time for their ceremony! What more could you ask for?
The first wedding I did in 2019 was the rainiest day of the Spring! James and Ezgi chose the cutest wine bar for their ceremony and reception, but we ventured out into the rainy weather for some pretty fabulous photos. Hoyt Arboretum and the Rose Garden were both perfect spots, albeit a little wet. With umbrellas in hand, we braved it. And I’m glad we did! The photos were well worth it.
I love a small, intimate ceremony because it’s so full of love with those closest to the couple. James and Ezgi had such a fun day, and I’m so glad I could be part of it!
